Dual Credit Program
Dual credits are college courses delivered by college instructors to secondary school students. If successful, those students get credit in both high school and college. Dual credits are available at no cost to the secondary student.
Dual credit programs are linked to the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP).
Dual Credit Courses for Semester 1 of the 2015-16 School Year:
City of Kawartha Lakes and Haliburton (in partnership Fleming College):
- Applied Tools and Piping
- Drawing Disciplines
- Psychology of Sport
- Physical Fitness and Lifestyle Management
- Make-up Artistry and Cosmetology
- Heavy Equipment Fundamentals
- Trade Calculations
Muskoka (in partnership with Georgian College):
- Colour and Design
- Early Childhood Education
- Developing Leadership
- Program Planning
Benefits of the Dual Credit Program
Through the Dual Credit Program, high school students have the opportunity to earn up to 4 dual credits by taking part in apprenticeship training and college courses.
Students enrolled in the program can earn both high school and college credits upon successful course completion.

How Do I Register for a Dual Credit?
Register at the Central Lakes (centrallakes.ca) website if you are enrolled at one of the following secondary schools:
- Bracebridge and Muskoka Lakes Secondary School
- Gravenhurst High School
- Huntsville High School
Register at the Earn Dual Credits (earndualcredits.ca) website if you are enrolled at one of the following secondary schools:
- Fenelon Falls Secondary School
- Haliburton Highlands Secondary School
- I.E. Weldon Secondary School
- Lindsay Collegiate and Vocational Institute
